Nicholas Prior

Nicholas Prior is a native of New Mexico, graduating from the University of New Mexico where he was named the Outstanding Music Education Graduate, and also holds a Masters in Music and Music Education from Teachers College, Columbia University. Nicholas spent five years teaching middle school choir at Eisenhower Middle School in Albuquerque, NM, named the 2016 NMMEA State Honor Choir. During his time at Eisenhower he began to specialize in arranging and composing choral music for developing voices. Nicholas was recognized in 2015 by the New Mexico Music Educators Association as the New and Emerging Music Educator of the Year.

Nicholas has conducted with the Albuquerque Boy Choir, the New Mexico Kodály Institute, the UNM Children’s Chorus, the Canticum Novum Singers with Harold Rosenbaum in NYC, conducted many regional and all-state honor choirs New Mexico and New York, as well as directing the prestigious choirs of Mt. Eden High School in Hayward, California. Besides singing professionally, he works in the national show choir circuit as an arranger, clinician, and adjudicator.
