Judith Turner
Graciously donated by 'Friend of C4' Vincent FitzGerald, the photogravures of Judith Turner, C4's featured artist for the 2015-16 season, reveal her intricate point of view. The details in her stark architectural and floral subjects become hyper clear and informative.
Ms. Turner resides in New York City. She began taking photographs in 1972 and has had many solo exhibitions in various cities in the United States, Europe, Isreal, and Japan. She has been awarded grants and fellowships from The Graham Foundation, Mobil's Artist-in-Residence Program, The Lila Acheson Wallace Fund, and The Asian Cultural Council. In 1994, she received an Honor Award from The American Institute of Architects.
Her photographs are in the permanent collections of many institutions including: The Getty Center, Los Angeles; The Guggenhiem Museum, The Whitney Museum, and the International Center of Photography in New York; The George Eastman House Collection, Rochester; The Portland Museum of Art, Maine; The Canadian Center for Architecture, Montreal; Bibliotèque Nationale, Paris; Museum Ludwig, Köln; The Tel Aviv Museum; and Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography.
Ms. Turner's work is features in 'After' and in 'Parables and Piece,' both limited edition artist books produced by Vincent FitzGerald & Co. Her latest book, 'Zaha Hadid, Judith Turner: A Dialogue' was published by Axel Menges.
These striking images appeared throughout the season on C4 publicity and print materials as well as gracing the cover and back plate of our second CD, 'Cornerstones.'
