Katherine Doe

Katherine Doe Morse

Katherine Doe Morse is an mezzo soprano, pianist, conductor, and teaching artist. Favorite opera roles that she has performed include Cherubino, Dame Carruthers, Mercedes, Dritte Dame and Knabe, Sesto (La clemenza di Tito), and the Secretary (The Consul). Katy conducts, sings, and serves as the Membership Chair for the C4 Choral Conductor/Composer Collective, which specializes in experimental choral music and new works. She is on the choral rosters of the New York Philharmonic Chorus, Bard Festival Chorale, Choral Chameleon, and the Hudson Valley Singers. She is lead cantor for St. Matthews & Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Hastings-on-Hudson and Ardsley NY, sings the monthly Latin Mass at Divine Mercy Parish in Brooklyn, and frequently substitute sings in parishes across NYC. She will be seen next in the opera chorus for Smetana’s Dalibor at Bard Summerscape July 25-August 3..
In addition to classical singing, Katy is an educational consultant for Playground Opera, operated by Opera on Tap. She regularly works as a teaching artist for the Metropolitan Opera, P.S. 56x Norwood Heights, Little Orchestra Society, and New York City Children's Theater. She is a former teaching artist with the Metropolitan Opera Guild. She maintains a private piano and voice teaching studio in Westchester County and is a piano technician-in-training, having studied with the New York School of Piano Tuning Service & Repair and the Butler School of Piano Technology.
Alongside her husband Mike, Katy enjoys studying ballroom dance, looking after their cat Simon, and exploring the best food that New York City has to offer.
