Katie Kress

Katie Kress is a conductor, vocalist, and music educator originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan! Katie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Kenyon College, where she studied conducting under Dr. Dane Heuchemer and Dr. Benjamin Locke! She has also been lucky to train in conducting at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and the University of Michigan!
As a vocalist, Katie has performed across the country in many states, as well as internationally in Germany and Austria! She has participated in premieres of new works through the Kenyon College Music department, and is thrilled to be conducting an upcoming world premiere with C4! As a conductor, Katie served as the music director for student music ensembles at Kenyon, and presented a choral conducting recital with an ensemble of her own in her senior year. These days, Katie teaches choir and general music to her elementary and middle school students, and serves as the conductor for her charter network’s middle school Honors Choir! ​
