Greta Moorhead

Originally from Ardmore, Pennsylvania, Greta moved to NYC in the fall of 2017. She
obtained her BM from The Hartt School of The University of Hartford, where she studied with Marjorie Melnick and Eric Trudel. Since graduating from Hartt, Greta has performed a variety of roles with opera companies in New England and the Midwest, including Arnalta in Claudio Monteverdi’s L’Incoronazione di Poppea with Haymarket Opera Company and Mercy Lewis in Robert Ward’s The Crucible with Hartford Opera Theater, among others.

An active recitalist, she enjoys collaborating with musicians based in New York City and New England on a variety of repertoire, particularly early and contemporary music. In addition, Greta sings with a number of choirs based in New England, including The Composer’s Choir in New Haven, CT, with which she appeared as a soloist in Richard T. Hill’s Missa Brevis in 2018, as well as Connecticut Choral Artists (CONCORA), with which she appeared as a soloist in W.A. Mozart’s Requiem, K. 626 in 2018. When not singing, Greta works as a voice and piano teacher at a number of educational institutions in the greater New York City area.
