Annie Beliveau

Annie Beliveau (she/her) is a composer, conductor, singer, and educator from northern Vermont now active in the early and new music scenes in New York City. A flexible soprano with a light, clear voice and strong musicianship, she is comfortable in high-stakes performance and recording situations. Her interests include medieval and Renaissance music theory, Eastern European folk singing, and interdisciplinary art, and her work often explores modal shifts and tertian relationships. Annie’s compositions have been performed along the East Coast and internationally in the Baltic states. While earning her degree in Music from Middlebury College in Vermont, she took the opportunity to study abroad in Oxford, England, and her research on medieval plainsong witnesses in the Bodleian Library culminated in a senior project comprising musicology, composition, and performance. She also enjoys conducting choirs and teaching theory and musicianship. She’s grateful to have found many colleagues in New York City who are committed to open-minded and compassionate music making.
