Spring 2022 Concert: Voices Everywhere

Spring 2022 Concert: Voices Everywhere

May 19, 8:00pm - St. John's in the Village, 218 W. 11th St., Manhattan
May 21, 8:00pm - St. Luke in the Fields, 487 Hudson St., Manhattan

Program Notes
C4 celebrates the power of the voice with "Voices Everywhere," our first indoor concert since March 2020!

We'll explore the impact of the voice within language and communication - fairy tales and children's voices, the impact of stigmatizing language, the voices of those long passed, and what happens when language breaks down entirely. Enjoy this thought-provoking night of new choral music!

Featuring the world premiere of "Tears, Apples and Stones," by Zsuzsanna Ardó and Jonathan David, Trevor Weston's "Voices Live Forever," the East Coast premiere of Lugo Vera's "Leonora," and world premieres by Karen Siegel and Brian Mountford.

Our program will include the following pieces:

  • Tears, Apples and Stones, text by Zsuzsanna Ardó, music by Jonathan David
  • L'Ours Réglisse et le sac à malices, Bushra El-Turk
  • Turing Believes Machines Think, Gordon Hamilton
  • Voices Live Forever, Trevor Weston
  • Lest We Be Scattered, Brian Mountford
  • Don't Call Me Beautiful, Karen Siegel
  • Leonora, Vera Lugo
  • DADA NY '15, text by Zsuzsanna Ardó, music by Daniel Andor-Ardó

All attendees will need to present proof of vaccination (vaccination card, NYC Excelsior Pass, Docket app, etc.), as well as a photo ID. The audience is required to be masked.
